Venezuela Hyperinflation

Venezuela is experiencing hyperinflation because of all the corruption in the government including the president leading to a lot of money printing and spending deficits and the Venezuelan government not admitting to money inflation.

Social impacts: Price inflation making it harder for people to pay for things they need to have such as food and water. Friends and families can’t go out and enjoy themselves together because they can’t pay for little things.

Political: With all the corruption the political standing is not good and there is speculation that foreign militaries might come in to diffuse the situation. Money currency is turning bad and isn’t getting better but getting worse by the year but nobody can do anything because all the higher ups could be apart of the corruption so nothing can change that. Other countries are getting involved because Venezuela has the largest known oil reserves.

Economic: 19 out of 23 states have been left without water due to pricing and that leading to deaths in some of those states. Money prices being worthless leading to people left starving and thirsty and people will rebel to get what they need to survive.

It affects the rest of the world because Venezuela is the biggest oil exporter out there due to it having the largest oil reserves but it also is a big exporter of coffee and cocoa beans.

Ivan Vassilyevitch “Ivan The Terrible” Childhood

Ivan Vassilyevitch was crowned the first Czar of Russia. Ivan had a bad childhood his mother died when he was eight and his father died when he was three years old. When he was little he was loved in the public eye but in private he was neglected. His childhood was very lonely and murder, abuse, and violence all happened in the palace he lived in. Some people believe this why he hates the Nobles and why he shows such violence to them in the future because they neglected him and made his childhood miserable. When his mother died it let Nobles take her place and all they wanted was power but his mother wanted to help. So it hurt him to see people take his mother’s spot and fight only for power but. not to help Russia.

Kim Jong Un Childhood

While he didn’t have a horrible childhood his childhood is the reason he does what he does. He did have lonely adolescence since his parents sent him to Switzerland to do school where he no friends and no family so he was lonely. As he was growing up his family was in control of North Korea so he was taking notes on when he would be Dictator. So when he became Dictator when his father died he had been influenced by watching his family be in power. so since he grew up watching his father keeping North Korea in a cruel place he kept the same type of cruel government. So him growing up in a cruel government he was taught to carry on a cruel government.

How they are similar

They are similar in the was that they both were influenced by their childhood and that’s why they do what they do. It may be wrong and cruel but to them growing up that they think that is what needs to be done.

2020 Election

Who Do I Think Will Win?

I think it is a 50/50 from what I see on the news some people think Trump will win while others think Biden will win. Since the voters are voting now and that not all the votes are in we don’t know what could happen. The map I looked at showed one place, New Hampshire has voted, and Trump won New Hampshire. The Democrat’s Senate is winning 35:30 also the Democrat’s Governor is winning 20:19. They say Donald Trump and Joe Biden will not win on election night due to coronavirus. So I think it is hard to tell at the moment and we will have to wait and see because I think it will be close.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden Debate

Quotes from the Debate

TRUMP: “Biden wants to LOCKDOWN our Country, maybe for years. Crazy!” Trump says this when Biden says he will shutdown the United States while the pandemic is still going on if scientist and health administrators say he should.

BIDEN, comparing Trump’s record on trade with that of the Obama administration: “We have a trade deficit that’s larger with China than when we were there.”  Biden says this even though this is false since it is at 308 billion dollars the lowest since 2013.

TRUMP: “You know, our doctors get more money if somebody dies from COVID. You know that, right? I mean, our doctors are very smart people. So what they do is they say, ‘I’m sorry, but, you know, everybody dies of COVID.” Trump says this about the hosptial.

The Most Dangerous Game

In the article, I am reading named “Decline In Hunters Threatens How the U.S. Pays For Conservation”. It states that most people who are hunting do it for pleasure and have no reason to and do it for sport. This ties in with “The Most Dangerous Game” in that the general who is hunting him does it for a sport not because he has to. In “The Most Dangerous Game” the general said the animals are adapting to protect themselves from him it also says in the article that animals are adapting to their new environments making it harder for hunters to hunt.

Another article I’m reading named “Does Hunting Help or Hurt the Environment”? Is about how some people believe that hunting is good for the environment and that can be more good than bad. In a way that they said hunters take out prey that feeds on possibly endangered species of animals and makes them less likely to die. Also stating that all the animals are overpopulating the forest and doing harm to it rather than good so they think hunters taking some of them out could help the forest.

The connection I made is between the hunters and the General in “The Most Dangerous Game”. They are all hunters and at first General hunted animals for good reasons when in Russia. But then it became a sport some might say a game where he was hunting the biggest of animals he could find until it got too boring. So he ends up starting to hunt humans down for a challenge but ends up dying to one of the humans.

How to be a successful student due to Covid-19

Covid has affected how we live our lives, including how we learn like rules and requirements at school. Being a student during this pandemic can be very hard and stressful for a student. These small things that I’m about to tell you could help keep you less stressed and keep your grades up.

Four Types of Group Work Activities to Engage Students

Be able to avoid distractions

Being at home and not having a teacher to tell you to pay attention or to stay off your phone is very tempting. You have to be able to keep yourself from getting distracted. Some Ways to keep yourself focused is to set a certain amount of time that you’re going to do your work and then take a break then keep doing that until you’re done with your work. You can play music so that it’s not boring while doing your work. What helps me the most is turning off my notifications, this way it doesn’t tempt me into checking my phone.

Don’t be scared to reach out to teachers

Some students are scared to ask teachers for help because they are scared that the question is dumb. Being able to reach out to teachers is a big help. Being confused about something could get you a bad grade and bring your grades down tremendously. Don’t be scared to ask your teachers for help. That is what they are there for and they aren’t going to judge you for not knowing something.

Make a routine for the day

Making a routine makes you not stressed and worry about things. This is because you know when you should be getting your work done. This can also let you have a lot more time to do stuff you need to do other than school. Usually, a good routine in my opinion is getting up pretty early, getting food, getting my work done then do whatever I want to do the rest of the day.

Still hangout or stay connected to friends

I’ve read on many things that being at home or not staying connected can lead to depression and stress. Being either of these things can affect your school also. Hanging and talking to friends is a good outlet from school and to make things feel sort of back to normal.

How New Models are Preparing Students for the Future of Work | Getting Smart

Covid has changed our lives tremendously so we need to learn how to cope with it by still being successful and able to keep our grades up. These have helped me be a successful student so far in the year and I’m hoping it will help you out to!

Scarlet Ibis

Introduction

The Scarlet Ibis is about a boy who is ashamed of his crippled brother and his condition that he is in. Throughout the whole story he is pushing his brother to be more normal and do things he wasn’t supposed to do. He always took him for granted until he pushed him to far.

My First Theme

The first theme I felt like stood out in the story is “Don’t take anything for granted because it can go away just like that.” Because throughout the whole story he pushes him to be normal and he knows he’s not supposed to be but he embarrassed by him so he does it anyway. In the end, he ended up leaving him in a storm and didn’t care but when he went back he found him dead bleeding due to his heart condition. He realized what he did and felt bad and didn’t know what he had until his brother died.

My Second Theme

The second theme that was shown in the Scarlet Ibis is “Everyone is different in their own ways don’t be embarrassed because someone is different.” In the story, the reason he pushed him so hard was that he was embarrassed by him for being different than everyone else. In the end, when he died he regretted treating him differently and pushing him for that.

Three Questions For The Reader

  1. Can you relate to any of the themes?
  2. Do you agree with the themes that I chose and wrote about?
  3. Do any of these themes have any personal connection?
